Inner values of the ancient Tamil people

Abstract

The inner life values of the ancient Tamil people are the high qualities that are manifested in their family life, love, friendship and other personal relationships. This includes many desires such as truthfulness, honesty, gratitude, respect for elders, morality, hospitality and public welfare. References to these values are found through Sangam literature. All the values occupy an essential place in the life of the ancient Tamil people. It is also noteworthy that the ancient Tamil culture is still admired today. The ancient Tamil literature is the closest to the world in which the Tamils live. Literature is divided into songs and poems. Sangam literature depicts the life of the Tamils well. The life values are divided into two types, internal and external. Through these, this study aims to examine the cultural life values that the world admires.

பழந்தமிழ் மக்களின் அகவாழ்க்கை விழுமியங்கள் என்பது அவர்களின் குடும்பவாழ்க்கை, காதல், நட்பு மற்றும் பிற தனிப்பட்ட உறவுகளில் வெளிப்படும் உயர்ந்த பண்புகள் ஆகும். இது வாய்மை, நேர்மை, நன்றிஉணர்வு, பெரியோரை மதித்தல், ஒழுக்கம், விருந்தோம்பல், மக்கட்பேறு போன்ற பல விழுமியங்களை உள்ளடக்கியது ஆகும். சங்க இலக்கியங்கள் வழி இந்த விழுமியங்கள் பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் காணப்படுகின்றன. விழுமியங்கள் அனைத்தும் பழந்தமிழ் மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் இன்றியமையாத இடத்தைப் பெறுகின்றன.

            மேலும்   பழந்தமிழர்  பண்பாடு  இன்றளவும் போற்றப்பட்டு வருவது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கதாகும். தமிழர்கள் வாழக்கூடிய உலகிற்கு அருங்குடையாகத் திகழ்வது பழந்தமிழ் இலக்கியங்கள் ஆகும். இலக்கியத்தைப் பாட்டு, தொகை என பகுப்பர். சங்க இலக்கியங்கள் தமிழர் வாழ்வியலை நன்கு சித்தரித்து    காட்டுகின்றன. அவ்வாழ்வியல் விழுமியங்கள் அகம், புறம் என இரு வகையாக பாகுபடுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவற்றின் வழி உலகோர் போற்றும் பண்பாட்டு வாழ்வியல் விழுமியங்களை ஆராயும் தலையாய நோக்கில் இவ்வாய்வு அமைகிறது.
