In the landscape of Tamil literature, Thiruvasagam serves as a philosophical treasure trove nurturing the crop of devotion, while Thirukkural stands as a manual for living that scales the peaks of human ethics. Although these two works differ in their individual approaches, it is noteworthy that they share a unified vision in explaining divine thought.
It is a philosophical truth that the Almighty grants every birth specifically to resolve our sins and virtues (Punya and Papa), and that the day birth is confirmed, death is also determined. Human life is essentially a field for experiencing and exhausting one's karmas (actions). Both Manickavasagar and Thiruvalluvar emphasize that the ultimate purpose of birth is for the soul, which originated from the Divine state, to return to that primordial state.
This research employs a comparative method to examine how Manickavasagar’s path of melting devotion and Thiruvalluvar’s intellectual ethical path converge at the single point of "reaching God." Despite one being the eighth volume of the Panniru Thirumurais and the other being the "Universal Veda," both Thiruvasagam and Thirukkural express identical thoughts without divergence on concepts such as clinging to the Lord’s feet, removing karmic bonds, and seeking liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
