Abstract

The Educational and Cultural Impact of Animated Tamil Folklore

Introduction This study investigates how Tamilian folk tales are understood among the current generation and examines the educational and cultural significance of disseminating these narratives through the medium of animation.

Objectives The primary objective of the study is to explain how youth (students aged 18) perceive folk tales, the moral and ethical perspectives they derive from them, and the successful integration of art and education achieved through this medium.

Methodology Under the methodology section, a quantitative survey was conducted using a questionnaire among 100 students. Their existing knowledge of folk tales, their perspective on the animated format, and the subsequent impact of the learning experience were systematically measured.

Findings The results revealed that animated folk tales generated greater engagement among students and played a crucial role in strengthening both cultural identity and ethical knowledge. Furthermore, this story-animation amalgamation was found to be an effective educational tool for introducing traditional arts and narratives to the new generation.

Conclusion The convergence of folk tales and animation represents a significant opportunity to advance both Tamil culture and educational innovation. This research emphasizes the sustainability of folk traditions and their promulgation in a format suitable for the digital age.
