The eyes, with their movements, serve as a crucial component for expressing human emotions and internal states. Eye movements or gestures function as an indispensable part of body language, helping to convey messages, establish communication with others, attract attention, and strengthen relationships. These actions are controlled by brain nerves and neurochemical secretions. It is astonishing that Thiruvalluvar, in his Thirukkural, particularly in the 'Kuripparindhal' (Understanding Gestures) chapter within the 'Kāmattuppāl' (Book of Love/Pleasure) section, explained the profound significance of such eye gestures even in ancient times, linking them with expressions of sexuality, neurological mechanisms, and as a means of revealing inner feelings. This summary explores the multifaceted applications of eye gestures, as well as their scientific and literary dimensions.
