Social Reflections in Palanibharathi’s Poetry: A Comparative Approach and Deep Analysis

Abstract

Poet Palanibharathi is highly notable among the prominent creators who left a distinct mark on the world of modern Tamil poetry (Puthukkavithai) during the late twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century. His poems do not merely showcase aesthetic feelings of love; rather, they sharply document contemporary social miseries, political corruption, the cruelty of poverty, and the plight of the working class. This paper examines the social awareness thoughts expressed in Palanibharathi’s poetry through a comparative approach alongside the social reflections of other contemporary poets such as Bharathi, Mu. Metha, Vairamuthu, Arivumathi, Ki. Kolanchi, and Mu. Valliyammai. This article provides a detailed analysis of the poet's perspective directed toward social change.
