Abstract

Jayakanthan is an author who made a unique mark for himself in the world of Tamil literature. He realistically captured the lives of the downtrodden and the mental struggles of the middle class. Notably, female characters in his novels are not portrayed merely as objects of pleasure or as weak individuals. Instead, they shine with independent thought, courage, and financial independence. This paper analyzes his feminist perspectives through Jayakanthan's major novels such as Sila Nerangalil Sila Manithargal, Oru Nadigai Nadagam Parkiral, and Innum Oru Pennin Kadhai.
