The social issues of the Aadhiyan community of Thalanur

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the difficulties faced by the Aadhiyan community, a group of nomadic cattle herders. The research focuses on their nomadic lifestyle, the daily challenges they encounter, and their ostracization by the dominant community. The Aadhiyan community is economically backward and faces significant obstacles in accessing employment and education due to the lack of Caste Certificates, which are essential for these opportunities. Despite the critical need, these certificates have not yet been issued to them.This paper advocates for the provision of Caste Certificates and argues that improving the lives of the Aadhiyan people is a responsibility not only of the government but of all people.

ஆதியன் என்கின்ற பூம்மாட்டுகார மக்கள் வாழ்க்கை முறையால் அவர்கள் அடைந்துள்ள இன்னல்களைப் பற்றிய ஆராயும் நோக்கமும் இவர்களின் நாடோடி வாழ்க்கையும் இவர்கள் அடைந்துள்ள அன்றாட சிக்கல்ளையும் ஆதிக்கச் சமூகத்தினரால் ஊரை விட்டு ஒதுக்கப்பட்டும் பொருளாதாரத்தில் பின்தங்கியும் வேலை கல்வி என அனைத்திற்கும் சாதி சான்றிதழே முக்கியமாக கருதப்படுகிறது. இருப்பினும் இவர்களுக்கு சாதி சான்றிதழ் இன்னும் வழங்கப்படவில்லை. இச்சான்றிதழை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்ற கோரிக்கையும் வைத்து இவர்கள் வாழ்க்கையை மேம்படுத்துவது அரசு மட்டுமல்லாமல் அனைத்து மக்களின் கடமை என்ற அடிப்படையில் இக்கட்டுரையானது அமைகிறது.
