We delve into philosophy when we attempt, in some way, to contemplate and research worldly matters. A knowledge of philosophy is essential to understand why humans live and what their life's objectives are. This can be observed in Thayumanavar's hymns. While many religious scholars and saints have stated that it is sufficient to live by remembering and praising Lord Shiva, who is the foremost among all and possesses unparalleled divine qualities, the objective of this article is to bring to light how Thayumanavar, in his songs, has subtly or esoterically sung about the philosophical principles revealed by Shiva's sacred emblems.
