Impact Analysis of the 6th and 7th Houses in Ashtakavarga: A Study on Marital Discord

Abstract

Marriage is a vital union of minds and families, traditionally analyzed through the "Ten Matches" (Dasa Porutham), Mars Dosha, and Rahu-Ketu placements. However, discrepancies often arise where compatible charts lead to divorce, while less compatible ones result in stable unions. This research utilizes the Ashtakavarga system—specifically the Sarvashtakavarga—to determine the true strength of astrological houses through Bindus (points).

By analyzing 50 real-life case studies of individuals who have undergone divorce, this paper investigates the numerical strength of the 7th House (representing marriage) in relation to the 6th House (representing conflict and litigation). The study provides a detailed analysis of how deficiencies in Ashtakavarga points between these two houses can lead to the breakdown of domestic life.
