Abstract

The tradition of Siddhas emerged in the medieval period of the historical region of Tamil Nadu. These Siddhas excelled in Siddha medicine. They paved a solid path for the soul and penance. Siddhas were seen in three categories as Sanmarkachiddhas, Gnana Siddhas, and Gaya Siddhas. At that time, Siddhas were the ones who contributed to the development of science and the field of science. They were the ones who discovered medicines suitable for diseases. This article aims to explain how the true knowledge and scientific knowledge of the Siddhas was found in the medieval period as they discovered the methods for living a long life in this world.

தமிழக வரலாற்றுப் பகுதியின் இடைக்காலத்தில் சித்தர்களின் மரபு தோன்றிற்று. இச்சித்தர்கள் சித்த மருத்துவத்தில் சிறந்து விளங்கி வந்தார்கள். உள்ளத்துக்கும், தவத்திற்கும் உறுதியான பாதையை வகுத்தார்கள். சித்தர்கள் மூன்று பிரிவுகளாக சன்மார்க்கச்சித்தர்கள், ஞான சித்தர்கள், காயச் சித்தர்கள் என காணப்பட்டனர். அக்காலத்தில் விஞ்ஞான வளர்ச்சியிலும், அறிவியல் துறையிலும் ஞானத்ததை பதித்தவர்கள் சித்தர்கள். திணைகளுக்கு ஏற்ற மருந்துகளை கண்டறிந்தவர்கள். இவ்வுலகில் நீண்ட காலம் வாழ்வதற்கான வழிமுறைகளை இடைக்காலத்திலே கண்டறிந்ததால் சித்தர்களின் மெய்ஞான – விஞ்ஞான அறிவு எவ்வாறு காணப்பட்டது என்பதை விளக்குவதாக இக்கட்டுரை அமைந்துள்ளது.
