Natrinai is a form of Ancient literature and romantic poetry. This book has been written by 175 poets. The name of the compiler of this work is unknown. It was commissioned by PANNADU THANDHA MARAN VAZHUTHI. When preparing a dictionary for the Sangam literature, various rules must be followed. Indexing is one such rule. Contemporary studies have produced research on concordances, word indexes, content indexes. When undertaking dictionary work for classical literature. One must first analyze the traditional verses. The meaning centered theme, word meaning, grammatical notes and the context in which the verses are composed must be analyzed with unde4r standing every word is meaningful. In the case of Sangam literature, many words are difficult to understand directly. Tholkappiyam is helpful in analyzing the nuances of the verses. Accordingly, this research paper is based solely on the first poem of the Natrinai anthology, a Kurinji- Themed poem that begins with the lines “Nindra sillar needu thondriniya”.
