Abstract

The concept that “education is a tool to bring out the latent potential within the human mind” articulates the true purpose of education. As times change, human lifestyles and the methods of acquiring knowledge also evolve. Consequently, various innovations have emerged in the field of education, with educational technology standing out as a significant one. Today's world is driven by the rapid growth of information technology. Computers, the internet, smartphones, artificial intelligence, virtual classrooms, video lessons, E-Books, and educational apps have transformed the very nature of education. Teachers have evolved beyond merely conducting lessons in the classroom; they have become guides who bring knowledge resources from across the globe to their students. Therefore, educational technology plays a key role in making education simple, engaging, useful, and inclusive. The objective of this article is to examine and explain the evolution of educational technology, the education system, the development of printing technology, radio and television, the advent of computers, the growth of the internet, smartphones and applications, artificial intelligence, the objectives and tools of educational technology, and the benefits of educational technology for students.
