Studies concerning marginalized communities initially originated in Western countries and subsequently found their way into the field of Indian Tamil social research. Consequently, research on marginalized people has emerged as a significant branch of modern study in Tamil. Human society is fragmented by numerous factors such as caste, religion, ethnicity, profession, economy, and language. Among these, the caste problem has persisted throughout history. Lower-caste people endure countless hardships and burdens in their lives. Kavipiththan is uniquely skilled at portraying the complexities of life within society through his novels. This article explores how marginalized people suffer in their lives within his novel "Sengai," focusing on themes such as poverty, capitalism, caste, power, the lives of laborers, and the challenges faced by drivers.
