Abstract
It is natural for a creator to incorporate not only the ideas that arise in their thoughts but also the events of the society they belong to. Vairamuthu is closely connected to the lives of the common people. In that vein, Vairamuthu has recorded in his novel "Third World War" themes such as the lifestyles of his native villagers, the contemporary life problems of agricultural people, the complexities in the agricultural profession, and organic farming. The purpose of this article is to explore Vairamuthu's skill in documenting concepts such as the pollution of land, water, and air – which are primary to the environment – and the effects of global warming in his novel "Third World War.".
