Hunting Rituals in the Folk Culture of the Tirupattur Region

This article is a study of two rituals, Parivettai and Pulikuttu, performed in Tirupattur taluk of Sivaganga district. These rituals are an important event in the worship tradition of folk deities. Social unity and the way of sharing food are expressed through rituals. Rituals show that every community is given an opportunity. This study also indicates that these rituals are slowly disappearing due to the development of science.
இந்த ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரை, சிவகங்கை மாவட்டத்தின் திருப்பத்தூர் வட்டத்தில் நிகழ்த்தப்படும் பரிவேட்டை மற்றும் புலிக்கட்டு ஆகிய இரண்டு சடங்குகள் பற்றிய ஆய்வாகும். இந்தச் சடங்குகள் நாட்டுப்புறத் தெய்வங்களின் வழிபாட்டு மரபில் ஒரு முக்கிய நிகழ்வுகளாகும். சமூக ஒற்றுமையும் உணவுப் பகிர்வு முறையும் சடங்குகள் மூலம் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. ஒவ்வொரு சமூகத்தவருக்கும் வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்படுகிறது என்பதை இச்சடங்குகள் எடுத்துக்காட்டுகின்றன. அறிவியல் வளர்ச்சியால் இந்தச் சடங்குகள் படிப்படியாக மறைந்து வருகின்றன என்பதையும் இந்த ஆய்வு சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறது.
