Tamilmanam International Research Journal of Tamil Studies follows the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This statement sets out the responsibilities of everyone involved in publishing with the journal.

Editors

  • Judge manuscripts only on their academic merit, without regard to the authors’ identity, institution or ability to pay.
  • Keep manuscripts confidential and declare conflicts of interest.
  • Publish corrections, retractions or expressions of concern when needed.

Reviewers

  • Review objectively and on time, or decline promptly.
  • Keep manuscripts confidential and do not use unpublished material.
  • Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication or data fabrication to the editor.

Authors

  • Submit original work and cite all sources.
  • List as authors only those who contributed substantially.
  • Do not submit the same work to more than one journal at a time.
  • Disclose funding and conflicts of interest.
  • Notify the editor promptly of errors discovered after publication.

Handling misconduct

Allegations of misconduct are investigated following COPE flowcharts. Outcomes may include correction, retraction with a published notice, or a ban on future submissions. Retracted articles remain online, clearly marked as retracted.
