Every research article in Tamilmanam International Research Journal of Tamil Studies is evaluated through double-blind peer review before publication.
Steps
- Initial check. The editorial office checks scope, formatting and similarity against published work. Manuscripts outside the scope or with unacceptable overlap are returned to the authors.
- Review. The handling editor sends the anonymised manuscript to at least 2 independent reviewers with expertise in the subject. Reviewers do not know the authors’ identities, and authors do not know the reviewers’.
- Decision. Based on the reports, the editor accepts the manuscript, requests minor or major revision, or rejects it. Reviewer comments are sent to the authors anonymously.
- Revision. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the same reviewers.
- Production. Accepted articles are copy-edited, typeset and published online with their received, accepted and published dates.

Conflicts of interest
Reviewers and editors must declare any conflict of interest and step aside from manuscripts they cannot judge impartially. Manuscripts submitted by editors or board members are handled by another editor, and the author has no access to the review.
