📄 Manuscript Withdrawal Policy & Guidelines

Tamilmanam International Research Journal of Tamil Studies (TIRJTS)

At Tamilmanam International Research Journal of Tamil Studies (TIRJTS), we value the time and effort of our editors, peer reviewers, and editorial staff. Withdrawing a manuscript late in the process wastes valuable academic resources. We strongly encourage authors to review the following guidelines before submission.

🛑 Why Withdrawal is Discouraged

Processing a research paper involves a tremendous amount of effort. When a manuscript is withdrawn late in the cycle—especially just days before publication—it results in a significant loss of productivity and resources.

📝 Pre-Submission Checklist for Authors

To avoid the need for withdrawal, the Corresponding Author, First Author, and Guarantor must ensure the following before clicking “Submit”:

  • ✅ Data Integrity: Double-check that all facts, statistics, and data points are 100% accurate and error-free.
  • ⚖️ Ownership & Permissions: Confirm that the work is original. Ensure you have written permission for any third-party data and that your institution permits the publication of these materials.
  • 👥 Authorship Finalized: Decide on the number of authors, the order of names, and individual contributions before writing the final draft.
  • 🤝 Collective Consent: Ensure all co-authors have read the final version, agree with the interpretation of data, and approve the choice of journal (TIRJTS).
  • 🚫 No Multiple Submissions: Submit your manuscript to only one journal at a time. Simultaneous submissions are a violation of publication ethics.

🔄 The Withdrawal Process

We understand that sometimes withdrawal is unavoidable. However, it is only permitted for the most compelling and legitimate reasons.

  1. Request Submission: Authors may request withdrawal at any stage of the review or publication process.
  2. Required Documentation: To finalize a withdrawal, authors must submit a completed Article Change Form (available online).
  3. Mandatory Signatures: The form must be signed by all listed authors stating the specific reasons for the request.

⚠️ Communication & Conduct

  • Responsiveness: Authors are expected to reply to editorial communications promptly.
  • Non-Response Policy: If authors fail to respond to multiple reminders at any stage of the process, TIRJTS reserves the right to disclose the conduct of the authors and the content of the manuscript publicly.
  • Liability: The journal cannot be held responsible for any professional consequences arising from the public disclosure of unethical submission conduct.
