மனித சமுதாயம் தழைத்து வாழ்வதற்கான வாழ்வியல் நெறிகளை நமது தமிழ் இலக்கியங்கள் தன்னகத்தே கொண்டுள்ளன என்றால் அது மிகையாகாது. மனிதன் கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டிய அனைத்து வாழ்வியல் நெறிகளும் திருக்குறளில் பொதிந்துள்ளன.  அவற்றுள் சில துளிகளாக அன்பு நெறி, வாய்மை நெறி மற்றும் ஈகை நெறி போன்றவற்றை சுட்டிக் காட்டுவதாக இந்த ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரை உள்ளது.

       “உலகினில் நாகரிகம் முற்றிலும் அழிந்து விட்டாலும் திருக்குறளும், கம்பன் காவியமும் இருந்தால் போதும். மீண்டும் அதனைப் புதுப்பித்து விடலாம்”

    என்ற கால்டுவெல் அறிஞரின் கூற்றினை நினைவு கூறுவது இங்கு மிகப் பொருத்தமானதாக அமையும். இக்கூற்றிற்கிணங்க இன்றைய பரபரப்பான உலகில் மனிதப்பண்பு இன்றி வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் மனிதனுக்குள் அன்பை மீட்டுக் கொண்டு வருவதாக அன்புநெறி அமையும். வாய்மை நெறி பொய்யான இவ்வுலகில் பொய்மை பேசித்திரியும் மனிதனுக்கு வாய்மையின் மகத்துவத்தை நினைவுபடுத்தும். ஈகை நெறி ஒவ்வொருவருக்குள்ளும் இருக்க வேண்டிய ஈகைக்குணத்தை உணர்த்தும்.

It is not an exaggeration to state that our Tamil literature embodies the life principles essential for human society to flourish. All the ethical principles that humans ought to adhere to are enshrined in the Thirukkural. This research paper aims to highlight a few of these principles, such as the principles of love, truthfulness, and charity. It is highly appropriate to recall here the statement by scholar Caldwell: "Even if civilization completely vanished from the world, if the Thirukkural and Kamban's epic remained, it would be enough to rebuild it again." In line with this statement, the principle of love will serve to restore love within humans who are living without humanity in today's bustling world. The principle of truthfulness will remind those who wander speaking falsehoods in this deceptive world of the greatness of truthfulness. The principle of charity will instill the quality of benevolence that should be present within everyone.
