The Tamils themselves are the ones who have defined this country by analyzing the tradition, cultural elements, civilization and performance of the Tamils. The antiquity and richness of an art is a mirror of time that reveals to us the richness and glory of the development of the civilization and culture of the country. The three Tamils, which are harmonious with the life of the Tamils, have evolved in many forms and have survived to this day. Among the arts that have been taught and experienced, the influences of dance education have led to the development of dance and a different life for the folk artists. The Sangam period dances have also influenced folk dance and contributed to the development of society and culture. The topic has been chosen in the context of the contribution of folk arts to social and cultural development.

தமிழர்களின் மரபையும் பண்பாட்டு கூறுகளையும்  நாகரித்தையும் செயல்வடிவத்தையும் பகுத்தறிந்து இவ்வையகத்திற்கு வரையறைகளை எடுத்துரைத்தவர்கள் தமிழர்களே. ஒரு கலையின் பழமையும் வளமையும் அந்நாட்டின் நாகரிக மற்றும் கலாசாரத்தின் வளர்ச்சியின் செழிமையையும் பெருமையையும் நமக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தும்  காலக்கண்ணாடியாக உள்ளது. தமிழர்களின் வாழ்வியலோடு இயைந்த முத்தமிழ் , பலவடிவங்களில் பரிணாமம் அடைந்து இன்றளவும் நிலைத்து இருப்பதற்கு ,பயிற்றுவிக்கப்பட்ட மற்றும் அனுபவத்தல் பயிலபட்ட கலைகளுள் ஆடற்கல்வியின் தாக்கங்கள்  ஆடற்கலையின் வளர்ச்சிக்கும் நாட்டார் கலைஞர்களுக்கும் மாறுபட்ட வாழ்க்கைக்கு வழிவகுத்து இருப்பதையும் சங்ககால ஆடல்கள் நாட்டுப்புற ஆடற்கலையிலும் தாக்கங்களை தந்து சமுதாய மற்றும் பண்பாட்டு வளர்ச்சிக்கு நாட்டுப்புற கலைகளின் பங்களிப்பு  என்ற பொருண்மையில் தலைப்பு தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
