Abstract

In today's modern society, marital breakdowns, severe misunderstandings between couples, and divorces are increasing at an alarming rate. The primary reason for this is the superficial analysis of only the Rasi matching (Moon sign compatibility) during marriage matchmaking, while ignoring the deeper impact of planetary positions (Graha Porutham).

Against this backdrop, the purpose of this research paper is to investigate how the presence of Rahu and Ketu—known as shadow planets (Chaya Grahas) in Vedic astrology—affects an individual's domestic life. In this study, the contribution of Rahu-Ketu is analyzed using the Ascendant (Lagna Bhava) and the seventh house (Kalathra Sthana) as primary factors, along with their related houses as supporting tools.

Specifically, based on five major astrological hypotheses, field studies (Case Studies) of three real horoscopes have been analyzed in detail. Furthermore, scriptural remedies (Pariharas) and methods for selecting auspicious dates to mitigate the obstacles caused by these astrological impacts on married life are also discussed.
