Before accepting
- Accept only manuscripts within your expertise.
- Decline if you have a conflict of interest, or tell the editor about it.
- Agree only if you can report within the requested time.
Evaluation criteria
- Originality and contribution to Tamil Studies
- Clarity of the research question and argument
- Use of primary sources and existing scholarship
- Soundness of method and conclusions
- Language, structure and referencing
Writing the report
Give a short summary, then specific, constructive comments the authors can act on. Keep confidential remarks for the editor in the separate field. Recommend accept, minor revision, major revision or reject.
Confidentiality and ethics
Treat the manuscript as confidential; do not share it or use its content. Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication or data problems to the editor. Follow the Publication Ethics policy.
Recognition
Reviewers receive a certificate of reviewing for each completed review and are acknowledged annually.
