This article, 'Kuruntokai - Historical Records in Kurinji Thinai Poems,' explores the historical information embedded in the Kurinji Thinai poems found in Kuruntokai, a Sangam literature work. Specifically, it explains with evidence how historical highlights such as the Kosar clan, the migration of the Vadugars, the Malaiyan king, and the heroic history of Valvil Ori are recorded in the Kuruntokai poems. This article also examines how Kuruntokai poems, which illustrate the social, political, and geographical conditions of that period, can be useful to historical researchers. Furthermore, it extensively discusses the war strategies, trade relations, and cultural values known through these poems.
