The Life Philosophies and Traditional Worship Practices of the Sanmarga Communities: A Study in the Context of Agam, Shaivism, and Arya Traditions.

Abstract

This study examines the life philosophies and traditional worship practices of the Sanmarga communities in the Indian subcontinent from a broad analytical perspective. It explores the ritual methods, Agamic foundations, Shaiva practices, and their religious, spiritual, and social dimensions. The study investigates the ritual traditions followed in worship and the foundational beliefs associated with them. It analyzes how these ritual practices are structured and how they are carried out in accordance with Agamic principles. In particular, it examines how ritual systems and their procedural practices are organized based on Shaiva religious texts. Furthermore, the research highlights how, through ritualistic worship methods, various spiritual codes and symbolic expressions have been shaped within religious traditions. It also discusses how the ritual procedures established by Natyacharyas and other scholars have been structured within worship traditions. In addition, it explores how ritual and performance traditions were formed through the contributions of religious scholars and teachers. This study concludes that these ritual practices serve as foundational elements in developing art, religion, spirituality, and social expression.
