The life struggles of the Malayali tribal people living in the embrace of the Kolli Hills are countless. This community is largely marginalized, existing in a distressing state where even basic amenities are out of reach. Essential needs such as education, employment, and healthcare remain unattainable. Their rights to land and natural resources are being snatched away, and their unique identity, cultures, and traditions are slowly eroding. Conflicts with modern society have jeopardized their very livelihoods. In this context, it is crucial to improve the livelihoods of the Malayali tribal people and preserve their unique culture and heritage. They can be uplifted by providing them with quality education and creating employment opportunities. Furthermore, it is essential to nurture their language, art, and music, and to identify and address the obstacles that contribute to their socio-economic situation. Therefore, the primary objective of this study is to investigate the reasons for the setbacks faced by the Malayali tribal people of Kolli Hills and to propose ways to improve their living conditions. Through this, their unique identity and culture can be protected, ensuring an equitable place for them in society.
