Abstract

In the contemporary context of globalization, career and business-related relocations, along with subsequent overseas travel, play a highly significant role in human life. This research paper comprehensively analyzes how the positions, significations (karakatwas), and house connections of key planets—namely the Moon, Saturn, Rahu, and Venus—in natal horoscopes bestow the yoga for foreign residency, known as Pravasa Yoga.

Adhering to the fundamental principles of classical astrological texts such as the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and Phaladeepika, this paper establishes that a weakened 4th house (the house of comfort and homeland) coupled with a strengthened 12th house (the house of foreign residency and bed comforts) and 9th house (the house of fortune and long-distance travel) compels an individual to leave their homeland for a foreign country. Furthermore, using two detailed case studies of horoscopes, this study practically explains how the timing of Dasha-Bhukti (planetary periods) and planetary transits (Gocharam) finalize foreign travel.
