Abstract

Language serves as the primary means of communication through which human beings exchange ideas, emotions, experience and knowledge. Communication does not take place only through various media; the language used in the everyday life of human beings also functions as an important means of communication. In this context, the spoken expressions, dialogues and regional-language words found in Malarvathi’s works are examined from the perspective of communication studies. In particular, this study examines how language functions as a means of communication through which ideas, emotions, life experiences and cultural elements are shared.
