Abstract
In a world filled with numerous challenges, self-confidence serves as a vital force that helps women overcome disappointments and poverty. This paper explores the theme that women should move through society with self-confidence and courage without being broken by the external struggles associated with family, profession, children, and society. The world of children is selfless and joyful. Children are the leaders of tomorrow. Their imagination and creative abilities take them into a world of dreams. However, when poverty enters the lives of these children, their minds become distressed and their imaginative world begins to disintegrate. This paper examines these themes through the social and cultural life depicted in Ki. Rajanarayanan’s short story “Kathavu.”
