Morality is a concept created by humans for human welfare. Literature serves as a medium to teach morality. Morality is structured as something that must be followed. Through literature, people can be guided toward collective well-being by embracing moral values. Epics feature various characters, and through their stories, morality is conveyed to the public. In particular, the character of Sadhuvan in Manimegalai is used to illustrate moral ideas that benefit society.

அறம் என்பது மனித இனத்திற்கு மனிதனால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. அறம் போதிக்கும் ஊடகம் இலக்கியம். அறம் கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டிய ஒன்றாக கட்டமைக்கப்படுகிறது. இலக்கியத்தின் வழியே மக்கள் அறத்தினை அடுத்தடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு எடுத்துச்செல்லமுடியும். காப்பியங்களில் பல்வேறு கதை மாந்தர்கள் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளன. கதை மாந்தர்களின் வழி கதையமைப்பினை நகர்த்தி அறம் என்பதை மக்களுக்கு உணர்த்துகின்றனர். மணிமேகலையில் சாதுவன் என்பவனின் மூலம் சமூகத்திற்கு உணர்த்தும் அறக்கருத்துக்களை விளக்குகின்றது.
