Abstract

Virtue means the set of good deeds. The poets who created Tamil literature recorded their ideals in literature and guided the people to live a good life. In this way, Thandaliyar Satakam, which is known as a proverbial interpretation, has recorded moral thoughts suitable for all ages in literature. It has planted moral principles in people's minds by setting up various stories at appropriate places showing the morals people should follow and the bad morals they should avoid in the society. The author Padikasup Pulavar has recorded in literature the mentality of the people who lived in the society during his lifetime keeping in mind the morals of life they followed. The moral thoughts given by the literature are arranged in such a way as to help the human mind to improve.
