Abstract

Marriage matching is a traditional guidance used in South Indian societies to predict the lifelong harmony, health, and progeny development of a couple. This article deeply examines the ancient "Ten Star Match System" (Dasa Koota System) against the backdrop of modern physiology, medical genetics, psychology, and reproductive immunology. This study establishes that the Dina, Gana, Yoni, Rajju, and Vedha matches, which are astrologically considered essential, are not mere spiritual symbols; rather, they have direct, scientifically proven connections with the Big Five Personality Traits, body-odor-based genetic mate selection (MHC-HLA Mate Selection), blood incompatibility (Rh Factor Incompatibility), and genetic disorders caused by inbreeding (Consanguineous Genetic Risks), respectively. This article has been comprehensively designed using classical texts like B.V. Raman's "Muhurtha" along with modern medical reference books such as Turnpenny's "Emery's Elements of Medical Genetics" and Mollison's "Blood Transfusion" as comparative evidence.
