Folklore has long been passed down orally, even through tradition. But now all folktales are published in print The customs, culture, proverbs, legends, beliefs, and worship of rural people constitute customs. Among these customs, proverbs are the ones that are prevalent in the daily lives of rural people. The purpose of this article is to understand that those old dialects emerge through their natural speech and also reveal their culture.

நாட்டார் வழக்காறுகள் காலங்காலமாக வாய்மொழியாகப் பரப்பப்படுவன. மரபு வழியானவையும் கூட. ஆனால் தற்போது எல்லா நாட்டுப்புற வழக்காறுகளும் அச்சுப் பிரதியில் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளன. கிராமப்புற மக்களின் பழக்கவழக்கங்கள், பண்பாடு, பழமொழிகள், விடுகதைகள், நம்பிக்கைகள், வழிபாடுகள் போன்றவை வழக்காறுகளாக அமைகின்றன. இவ்வலக்காறுகளுள் கிராமப்புற மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் அன்றாடம் புழக்கத்தில் வெளிப்படுவது பழமொழிகளாகும். அப்பழமொழிகள் அவர்களின் இயல்பான பேச்சினூடே வெளிப்பட்டு அவர்களின் பண்பாட்டினையும் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றது என்பதை அறிவதே இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கமாகும்.

Structural shifts in the twenty-first century—such as globalization, rapid technological advancement, economic inequality, and climate change—have fundamentally altered the living environment of human society. This paper comprehensively analyzes contemporary social challenges through Western Humanistic Psychology and sociological theories, as well as the anthropological perspectives of ancient Tamil ethical literature, namely Thirukkural and Purananuru.

Rejecting liberal approaches that view humans merely as mechanical entities and factors of production, this study examines how a humanistic approach—which prioritizes self-awareness, autonomy, creative potential, and emotional connections—can provide sustainable solutions to modern crises. Economic data from Tamil Nadu, innovations from green startups, climate risk indicators, and school-based psychological support systems are compiled here with evidence. Ultimately, this paper proposes a global policy framework that integrates individual psychological well-being with structural social justice.

Rituals are seen as being closely intertwined with human life. From birth to death and even beyond, rituals are deeply embedded, serving as a means to understand the culture and way of life  of people. More than participating in auspicious ceremonies, people ensure their presence in funeral rites without fails. In this context, the novel Neervazhippadum by Devibharathi provides insights into the funeral rituals of the Navithar community. This research article aims to explore these rituals and understand the lifestyle of the people within that community.

Education in the mother tongue plays a vital role in a nation’s educational development. It ensures inclusive access to learning for all segments of the population and contributes to raising overall educational standards. Learning in one's native language enhances comprehension, especially of complex concepts. This is particularly true in fields such as engineering and technology, where understanding in the mother tongue can significantly aid practical application. In this article, we introduce the fundamental concepts of Graph Theory—a branch of applied mathematics with wide-ranging applications—presented in our native language, Tamil. We also explore a special class of graph theory: Trees.

Marriages serve as both a cultural hallmark of human civilization and a socially recognized institution. The Tolkāppiyam, an ancient Tamil treatise, references Sanskrit literature in classifying marriages into eight traditional forms: Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya, Gandharva, Asura, Rakshasa, and Paisacha. However, evolving with time, modern society predominantly witnesses two distinct types of marriages—arranged and love marriages.This article examines their portrayal in contemporary literature, delving into the associated complexities, conflicts, and societal challenges they depict.

Tamil folk songs are a significant aspect of a nation's character, faith, and lifestyle. Tamil folk songs have a unique identity. These songs express various aspects such as the love for mother, beauty of a child, future dreams, social issues, and so on. Folk songs are also prevalent among the Tamil-speaking Muslim community. However, there is a lack of studies on their unique attributes. This research aims to analyze the attributes of folk songs among Tamil-speaking Muslims. From the selected collection of songs, an analysis of their common elements, Islamic religious and cultural references, social beliefs, language, and so on will be conducted. This study will highlight how Islamic religious beliefs and unique cultural practices of mothers are intertwined with the universal characteristics of Tamil folk songs. Thus, it provides an in-depth understanding of the cultural and behavioral aspects of Tamil Muslims.

It aims to provide a detailed examination of the traditions, rituals, social structures, and worldview that characterized the Marutha people and contributed to the vibrant mosaic of Tamil civilization. By understanding the Marutha culture, we gain a deeper appreciation for the complexities and enduring legacy of ancient Tamil society. Just as man began to settle and coalesce into family units, solidifying societal structures, so too did their customs and beliefs solidify, permeating every facet of their existence. The influence of the Marutha people and their contribution warrant a thorough and respectful examination.
