Abstract

As a testament to the noble literary perspective in Sangam Literature that "the creation is greater than the creator," the work titled Kuruntokai is celebrated as the "Good Kuruntokai" (Nalla Kuruntokai). It minutely records emotions related to Akam (interior life/love). Poets nurtured the Tamil language through a combination of intellect and effort. Through their endeavors, they expressed numerous concepts via the Tamil language—beyond just literary and grammatical texts—in a way that everyone could understand.

Even amidst civilizational growth, these poets outlined methods for writing in a language free from corruption. The poets of Kuruntokai and their writings are the reason these works remain distinguished, integrating excellence of similes, beauty, love, and the pain of separation within a single poem.
