Digital Learning and TET Pass Rate: A Tamil Nadu-Centered Study

This research paper examines the correlation between Tamil Nadu's digital transformation in education and the fluctuations in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) pass rates since 2012, with a focus on the record high pass count of 320,014 by November 2025. By analyzing the digital divide, technology adoption, and teacher skill enhancement, the study attributes the 2025 surge in success to a revised question paper design, qualifying mark concessions, and increased use of digital tools fostered by government initiatives like Kalvi TV and free laptops. Ultimately, using secondary data, the paper concludes that while technology expands access—despite a persistent urban-rural literacy gap—digital tools alone are insufficient, as overall success heavily depends on training quality, curriculum alignment, and socio-economic factors.
