Tribal literature occupies a significant place in Tamil Literary studies as it records the socio-cultural and Ecological realities of indigenous communities. S. Balamurugan’s Solakar Thoddy is an important Tamil Novel that vividly portrays the life, culture, and ecological worldview of the Solakar tribal community. This study examines the novel from an eco-feminist perspective to explore the interconnectedness of women and nature. The study analyzes the nature-centered lifestyle of the tribal community, indigenous ecological knowledge, forest-based beliefs and rituals, and the impact of social and power structures on their livelihood. Particular attention is given to the role of women in preserving cultural traditions, ecological practices, and community values despite various forms of marginalization. The findings reveal that the novel not only documents tribal ecological consciousness but also emphasizes environmental conservation, indigenous knowledge, and sustainable living from an eco-feminist perspective.
