Living Standards / Ethical Rules Taught by Tirukkural and Modern Global Ethics: A Comparative Study on Diversity, Mathematical Order, and Human Rights Values
Keywords:
Tirukkural, Living Standards / Ethical Rules, Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Mathematical OrderAbstract
This research paper comprehensively explores the living standards and ethical principles proposed by Tirukkural, which stands as an outstanding book of justice and a universal scripture in the history of Tamil literature. In particular, by comparing the moral and ethical rules formulated by Thiruvalluvar with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) proclaimed by the United Nations in 1948, this study establishes the noble ethical foundation held by Tamil civilization centuries ago.
Furthermore, the precise mathematical order and logical cause-and-effect structures embedded within Valluvar's poetic lines are analyzed. Through deeper second- and third-level philosophical concepts, this paper extensively discusses how the principles of 'Arivudaimai' (Wisdom) and 'Vaanshirappu' (The Greatness of Rain/Nature) in Tirukkural serve as a moral guide in the modern technological era—specifically regarding data-driven Artificial Intelligence (AI) decision-making and ecological ethics concerning global climate change.
